FIREFIL
TRIPLE
PROTECTION
Once again, FilSpecTM innovates by launching FireFilTM, a fibreglass core yarn that is flame resistant, cut resistant and tear resistant.
Textiles created from this yarn exceed the highest standards of the fire-resistant fabric industry, offering triple protection to firefighters and industrial workers exposed to various dangers.
AN INGENIOUS DESIGN
Thanks to an innovative spinning technology, a highly flame-resistant fibreglass filament is inserted in the centre of the yarn. The outer layer of this yarn, made of high-performance textile fibre, is carefully chosen so as to render the composite yarn more effective.
The fibreglass core yarn is then woven to create a FireFilTM fabric that is flame resistant, cut resistant and tear resistant.
FIREFILTM ADVANTAGES
- Fibreglass makes FireFilTM resistant and protective
- No after-flame
- Does not melt or drip
- Yarn does not shrink in extreme heat*
- High tear strength: 200% higher than the NFPA 1971–2013 requirement*
- Resistance of over 1,000 newtons in warp direction and 1,450 newtons in weft direction*
- Flexible modular technology, according to the required performance and individual needs
*According to tests undertaken by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) on a 7.2 OSY fabric.

WELDERS
FireFilTM has been adapted to meet the specific needs of welders exposed to sparks and molten-hot metal shavings.
FireFilTM Welding is a coated glass-core yarn designed to both protect welders and improve their comfort. With its moisture-wicking properties, the fabric made with FireFilTM feels comfortable against the skin and can be used to produce coveralls or protective aprons.
« My coveralls are light and comfortable. I’ve worn them in a lot of different conditions and they passed the test every time. They’re much more breathable than my old coveralls, which will be great in the summer!»
– Marcellin, welder at Normex Métal.
